Serenity in Sagada
If you were like me who lives in a city and has as very hectic schedule there are days that you just want to go to a place that will calm your mind and I believe that if you're looking for that kind of place it's going to be Sagada, peaceful green scenery, that has the sound of rustling of leaves, the song of birds all over its place, locals that are very kind, and foods that are freshly made.
Last November during my pre-finals I was so stress of all the activities in schools and life, I needed an escape, so decided to go and travel with my friend in Sagada our plan is to go to La Union for 1 night its Friday so might as well experience the night life of La Union, from manila to La Union it took us 4 hours' drive , we got there around 2pm check - in in our Airbnb accommodation, had dinner in Amare La Cucina it has a great view of the sea and the food was great after dinner we go directly to Flotsam but its already fully packed so we decided to go to a different place, I can say that the night life in La Union is very lively, by 11 pm we already decided that it's time to go and have rest in the accommodation.
By 8 am we were ready to go to Baguio and it took us 2 hours to drive, so by 10 am we are already having brunch in Lemon and Olives Greek Taveria, I love their food it all tastes so authentic and the view is to die for, would love to own a house someday in Baguio, After a brunch in Baguio we decided to go to Sagada took us 5 hours, During those 5 hours I feel like I’m already starting to feel relax owing to the fact that the view is mesmerizing, the road is just amazing. Finally, we were in Sagada, at the first sight the town looks small but there’s this cozy feeling that I get, The lodging that we got is nice there was no air con nor electric fan as the place is so called even if it's in the afternoon, there’s a heater which I believe is essential in that without it I will never be able to take a bath during the whole time I was there, the bed is comfy with comforter and what I love is the astonishing view in that room.
That night in Sagada we only had dinner in Sagada Brew my recommendation is Beef Callos and Chicken Roulade, but I think all their food is great. First, in the Morning we decided to have breakfast in Sagada Lemon Pie, a nice and cozy place, and definitely, a fan of their egg pie after that we directly go in our first activity the Sumaguing Cave it was an easy trek but has a lot of the narrow hole and slippery rocks but inside the cave is majestic it's all worth it, after this, I didn’t join with my friend with the other activities as my initial plan is to have a relaxing time and just enjoy the climate of Sagada, had dinner in Masferre Country Inn it's such a great dinner, I hate it when I'm loving the food so much and the location of the establishment is too far from Manila like what can I do when there's this sudden urge of cravings, kidding aside just want to point out how much I enjoyed that dinner after that we decided to go to their local pub the Moonhouse it has an amazing motif, not just that but also it close before 10 pm, which make sense since people in Sagada sleep early.
On the last day, we decided to have breakfast in GAIA Cafe just coffee, Salad and the view I believe that what you paying for here is the view, after that, we go to Bomod-ok Falls, It was so cold that my feet are the only thing that I allowed to get wet, For me by just admiring the beauty of this falls is already enough, then my friends got hungry so we planned to have lunch in Masferre Country Inn again, the truth is I force them, what can I do I'm infatuated with the food I must try the other dish in the menu, we were already getting ready to go back to Manila when my friend influence us to go to Blue Soil Mountain so we did it's amazing and out of ordinary sight and since we trek a little going there we need to fuel ourselves with some food in Salt and Pepper Dinner, now I am confused since the food is great again, I do not know now if I just really love foods. It was such an amazing escape in the city, although I know that there are a lot of places, I didn't visit but for me It was still the best since what I am looking for why I decided to go to Sagada is its serenity and I experience it.
